Scary Chemicals in the Air

I heard on the radio that they would be doing an aerial spraying of the area to protect against West Nile Virus. I immediately thought of the lessons I learned about the DDT sprayings that were later found to cause birth defects and other issues. Today I saw this article...

This is where my issue comes from - they say that the chemicals aren't dangerous because they will "evaporate into the trees" and won't ever hit the ground. I don't understand what that means. Are they saying that it lands in the trees, so it doesn't hit the ground? If that is the case, then what about anything that can blow in through my window, or just misses a tree in general? How does something "evaporate into" something else? I'm so confused.

It's funny.. being back in Idaho. Bank robberies, Red alert for air quality, cattle rustling, and chemicals... I guess I can see how some people are comfortable in New York because they know the dangers there - maybe a little robbery, a mugging, etc. But you know, and you protect yourself. Protecting yourself against air - that's a little tricky.

I don't know what I enjoy more about this website - that it exists, or that the pastor at church today used some of these graphics to talk about John the Baptist.

Check it out.
